![]() ![]() Participants are quickly put at ease when they learn how communities across the Commonwealth are equipped with emergency plans that reflect the diversity of community members’ access and functional needs. ![]() Our presentation aims to evade this concerning trend by educating members of the public on how to rapidly connect people with disabilities to emergency resources. MOD's experienced instructor can facilitate trainings both direct-to-consumers or in a “train-the-trainer” style to organization staff.Ĭensus Bureau data released in 2023 highlights how people with disabilities often face far worse consequences after a major disaster event than that of any other demographic group. These trainings ensure people with disabilities have the assistance and appropriate resources needed in times of emergency. This program brings free, comprehensive emergency preparedness training to the disability community and local emergency preparedness professionals. The Massachusetts Office on Disability (MOD) is looking for new partners and audiences for its Emergency Preparedness program.
